Sea Pines Plantation – An Environmentally Sound Real Estate Approach

The Hilton Head Island community of Sea Pines Plantation with its five miles of unspoiled beach has been the model for the modern day golf dominated communities. Sea Pines is a gated community of 5,000 residents sited on 5,200 acres of natural beauty on the southernmost tip of Hilton Head Island. Sea Pines offers three golf courses (the famed Harbor Town Links; Ocean Course and Heron Point, and the private Sea Pines Country Club. When most people think of a (condo) Villa they think of a 10 or 20 story high rise building. On Hilton Head Island the vast majority of them are one story. There is a story that no villa can be taller then the tallest tree. Not sure if that is true however there are none on the island that are taller then the tallest tree.

Tennis is high on the list of things to do in Sea Pines. The Sea Pines Racquet Club has 23 clay courts and a staff of USPTA instructors available for private and group lessons.

The FitnessCenter at the Plantation Club offers:

  • Low Impact Aerobics
  • Pilates, as well as treadmills, Stairmasters, bicycles, elliptical machines and weight equipment.

Personal trainers are available and fitness assessments can be scheduled. Boats and Wave Runners are available for rent as are inflatable Zodiacs in which to explore the ocean’s ecosystems.

If you’d like to spend your leisure time less strenuously, Sea Pines abounds with shopping and dining spots. Harbour Town has unique shops, clothing and craft boutiques, and art galleries set against a backdrop of yachts docked at the nearby marina. SeaPinesCenter, in the heart of the community, also offers wonderful shopping as well as several restaurants. South Beach Village resembles a quaint New England town; it is home to many eateries including the landmark Salty Dog Café.

As a Sea Pines resident you’ll pay dues to a Community Services Association which oversees maintenance and repair of common areas. As a member you are eligible to join any of a variety of clubs run by the CSA. The Property Owners Association (POA) fee for Sea Pines Plantation is $962 per year. 

There are over 5,800 single family homes and nearly 450 condos and homes available for vacationers in Sea Pines. In the forty residential neighborhoods, all homes are designed to blend in with the surroundings. They range from small houses to large estates with ocean views.
